So who am I? Why am I here? Why should you care?
My name is Nick, but most people now-a-days know me as Foam. I’m here because one day I will be brewing beer in Minneapolis. I may not be the next brewer in the Twin Cities area, and I hope I won’t be the last, but one day, I’ll be the man behind the beer you drink at Sturb’s or during a Twins game. I may not be the best or most famous brewer you’ll have ever heard of, but in ten years time, you’ll be drinking my beer and wondering why you didn’t believe it would happen when you read this amateur blog.
You’re gonna have to kill me to stop me. I’m a grown ass man, this ain’t no Goddamn hobby.
So what’s the point of this blog? Well, I want to keep a running record of what I’m doing to meet my goals. I want to cover every brew I make, every beer I taste, and all the projects that relate to this field in one way or another. I don’t really expect to inform anyone on the processes of brewing or why beer is the greatest drink of all time (see the links at left for sites that do this really well). Instead, I hope that this process will help me learn, either from comments from readers or just by seeing my trends of success and failure.
It would be sweet if people cared, read my blog, and replied to posts, but that’s not really my point in doing this. If you love beer, reading the musings of an aspiring brewer with crappy facial hair, and the ups and downs that come with anyone trying to learn anything, then I guess you might like what I plan on writing. Otherwise, you probably won’t be around too long. Assuming reading this means you plan on sticking it out, then thanks for showing up!
