The Big Mac of Egg Sammiches

The mythical egg/spamwich from Hongdae

While stumbling through the streets of Hongdae last weekend, I stumbled upon a sweet siren of a woman selling fabulous grilled sandwiches for ₩3,000. I had no camera, thus no picture either, so I drew y’alls a picture instead.

This delicacy featured three slices of white bread, two fried eggs, a slice of luncheon ham (akin to Spam, but probably some cheaper brand), a pair of cheese slices, and white onion. There may have also been a secret sauce of sorts as well. All this was assembled then thrown back on the grill for a moment to toast the exterior bread. Paired with a can of Mountain Dew (can I call it Dewsan in Korean?) for another ₩1,000.

Assuming the cart doesn’t travel, you too can find it North of Sansu Stn Exit 1, between 7-11 and Vinyl.

About foambrew

I'm a food science graduate from the University of Minnesota. I spend my time being in Seoul for a year, brewing beer, consuming food, biking, playing the tuba, and enjoying the Twins and Gophers. I can usually be found doing some combination or derivative of these things.
